Drug Abuse Prevention Shows
LET US HELP TO GET THE MESSAGE ACROSS
We present an assembly program that combines magic with the vital messages on drug abuse and self esteem. The performance is fast moving and so much fun that your students won't lose interest and feel that they have " heard it all before". By adding to the message a mystery or surprise ending you can lock in on their curiosity and they will remember what has been taught.
What amazes principals and teachers the most is the OUTSTANDING STUDENT RESPONSE. The students laugh and have fun, but are never out of control, AND THEY LEARN.
Who is Greg Wood?
Greg Wood is an entertaining trainer and speaker with over 25 years experience in teaching and speaking about drug and alcohol abuse, prevention and recovery. In 1992 he combined this with his talents as an illusionist to programs specializing in:

- Stranger Danger
- Paranormal Lies & Wonders
- The Magic of Teamwork

Greg's extraordinary ability to blend his unique talents and experiences into a school presentation makes him a refreshing, substantive, and valuable resource for schools and educators. He has performed his “Illusions of Drugs” show in schools across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Northwestern Ontario. He has also performed school shows in Kowloon, Hong Kong, Mexico and Hyderabad and Trichy, India.
His program was awarded one of only four Certificates of Appreciation from the Manitoba Addictions Awareness Committee, in recognition of his work in raising awareness of addiction problems.
Since 1990 he has entertained thousands with his comedy and magic at festivals, trade shows, and corporate events. He is a three-time winner of Winnipeg’s “Best of Variety Act” and has twice won Manitoba’s “Close Up Conjuror’s” Award. His act was chosen to represent Central Canada at the Vancouver Street Fair and to represent Manitoba at the Pan-Am Games in Winnipeg. He has had some on his unique effects published and has had the opportunity to lecture in front of his peers (including England).
This is not just a “Say No” show. The philosophy behind it is that these children are smart and they need to be taught that “To have a happy life, you need to make right decisions, based on the truth.” This is the main theme of “The Illusions of Drugs”.

"The message of choices around drugs and alcohol was made very strongly and definitely left an impression on the students."
David Riley -Killarney Collegiate
"I am a high school English Language Arts teacher, Guidance Counsellor, and Career and Life Management (CALM) teacher. I was looking for two things: an entertaining and professional performance, and a message that built self-esteem in our students, making them resistant to the influences of alcohol and drug abuse. I have seen many such presentations and I must say I was very impressed with what I saw….As well, his talk, which showed a genuine concern, empowered kids and gave them things to think about. Never once did he “talk down” , and his comments, stories flowed nicely with his magic."
David Babcock and Wayne Lewin - E.H. Walter School—Paradise Valley, AB
